The 2 Main Reasons Managers & Pros DON’T Get a Golf App

I meet with a lot of club managers and golf pros to show them the value and the opportunity if they get a golf app.

There are two main reasons they don’t sign-up.

The first reason they don’t get a golf app is “I don’t think it will work.”

That’s fine. It’s my job to show them that apps are profitable, how they work, and why they make sense for a particular type of club. (Not all golf clubs should get a golf app.)

If they knew what we knew and if they could see what we see, they’d be more likely to get one.

I’m not just talking about smartphone adoption/ownership rates or the thousands of rounds our clients’ customers book on their apps each month.

Or the push to connect with millennials.

Businesses of all types and sizes that don’t adopt and adapt to trending technology are, at best, missing out on profits and, at worst, being left behind.

When a manager or a pro says, “I don’t think it will work,” the challenge is on us to express to them the opportunity; to show them what’s possible if they get a golf app.

The second reason; “I think it will work.”

Nobody ever says this out loud. It still stops them from getting an app.

If a manager or a golf pro gets an Offcourse Golf app at their club and it works…

It changes things.

It changes the routine.

People hate change. Some fear it.

Our app is easy to operate. It reaches customers immediately with instant messaging for promotions and sales.

It shows you what customers are doing on your course and gives you new, impactful ways to reward loyalty.

Sending an instant message to hundreds of golfers to sell available last-minute tee times is just as easy as updating a Facebook status or posting a tweet.

Golf apps work.

Nobody ever says it out loud, but “I think it will work” is a big reason that keeps people from getting an app for their golf club because when it works it means they’ll have to change the way they do things.

Those are the two main reasons that golf club managers and pros don’t get an Offcourse Golf app for their clubs.

The good news is that we have customers and the app works for them! It’s up to us to help them change their routines and get the most value and potential from their Offcourse Golf apps.
