5 Reasons Why Golfers Prefer Mobile Apps to Mobile Websites
When Apple launched the App Store 10 years ago, there were 800 apps. Now, there are over 2.2 Million apps.
Mobile usage has been dominating desktop usage for years and the preferred form of mobile use is apps.
Why is this the case? Why do people use apps instead of mobile websites?
Here’s a short list of the evidence that answers the question and puts to rest the battle between the mobile app and the mobile website:
- Apps are dedicated to one brand, business, or task.
- Apps make it easier for users to do what they want to do since it’s way easier to navigate an app. (Mobile websites often still require more cumbersome navigation.)
- Apps incorporate specific device features like the camera or GPS.
- Many processes, like payments, can be automated with an app.
- Apps load quickly and don’t require the drawn-out process of opening a browser, typing (and mis-typing) URLs, waiting for slow pages to load, etc. Tapping the app’s icon is quick and easy.
Golf course apps aren’t some silver bullet miracle solution. They are simply a tool that allows a golf course to make it easier to sell tee times and other products to golfers.
